I performed the Tales at art gallery 26 Constable Street. Almost all new Tales!

Filmed as part of my PhD, I performed the Tales at Massey University’s film theater during a very rainy afternoon. Photos are by Russell Kleyn.

Sponsored by Black Flock Art Collective, I was invited to tell my tales at a private function back in the bush near Tawa! The first set was performed outside at dusk. The second set was performed inside a house lit by candlelight. It was the most stripped down version of the Tales I’ve performed, using my phone to provide audio, and a karaoke speaker to add my microphone. A very magical night!

I performed Tales from Nowhereland at Wellington’s Undercurrent Books, this November 24. Undercurrent Books is a fine used book establishment, and also has a very cool “Victorian Drawing Room” stage that made it ideal for the Tales. Opening act was singer-songwriter duo Mustang.

After much PayPal wrangling, I have opened up Squidlord 3000 Records at Bandcamp. I will be posting my music here for your streaming and downloading pleasure. Squid Lord is a label that’s been with me longer than Stekki Daiyo! Productions, and I’m glad to see it back. To kick it off I am releasing my tape-deck manipulation piece, “Roob-E” from 1997. Enjoy!
