NOTES: In the Emperor's Closet liner notes, Konishi writes: "I had a hand in almost all of the arrangements on Ms. Mutsumi Inoue's first mini-album. Tokyo's Coolest Combo provided the backing, which features vibes on all songs. "Etude" was written with the request that it have a feel similar to Francoise Hardy's "Sayonara o oshiete" [Comment Te Dire Adieu?]. "Dakishimetai" is a song I originally wrote for Taurus Records' Kana Maeda. Because I believed that the song would definitely fit Mutsumi-chan's fresh image, I pushed for her to cover my song, getting involved even to the point of directing its video clip. We filmed in the morning at Chikuji, Ueno, and Tokyo Tower, and it is one of my favorite videos. Anyway, I like this "Dakishimetai" very much, because it has the catchiest lyrics and melody amongst all my works. Nothing could make me happier than if various female singers covered this song."
